Some vehicles arrive at the shop in far worse condition than others, and this Mazda RX4 Coupe was one of the toughest. It came to us with extensive rust and a history of poorly executed repairs well below an acceptable standard. The car underwent a full strip-down to the floor pan and bare shell. Every panel on the vehicle has since been either repaired or replaced. New rear guards were fitted using a combination of well-sourced new old stock panels and carefully fabricated sections. Brand-new outer sills were folded and installed, and the rear of the car received a complete boot floor replacement, along with a new rear panel and parcel tray. Significant structural repairs were also carried out deep into the front scuttle and A-pillars, addressing long-standing corrosion and damage. The scope of work on this build was extensive, and the list of repairs goes on. The end result is a fully restored RX4 Coupe, rebuilt from the ground up to a standard it truly deserves. We’re proud of the workmanship throughout this build and look forward to seeing this iconic coupe back on the road very soon.

This cool wee Renault came in with a poorly repaired and fitted bonnet from a previous accident. New side edges and lower front sections were shaped and welded in place. Fitment and function restored.

MK2 escort

A full ground up restoration has taken place on this MK2 Escort sedan. A tidied up engine bay, custom built pedal box assembly with built in master cylinders, battery relocation and a custom tool tray in the boot keeps this car looking clean and period correct. The worked 1600 xflow engine and twin carbs look as good as they sound and a fresh new interior adds to the overall feel of an amazing car.

Laurel Boot Floor Replacement

The first job through the new HR Metal Fab headquarters was this Nissan Laurel. It came in for a full boot floor replacement. the repairs were carried out using a supplied rust cut from another vehicle.
